Homemade Ghee



                Ghee is a very essential thing in making desserts. Some people also apply it on their rotis. Its used in cooking variety of food items on a daily basis. It is easily available in stores in India or abroad. But the taste of fresh home made ghee is much better than store bought ghee.






Cooking Time: 20 - 30 minutes

Ingredients:
  • Butter 250 gms

Method:
  • Cut butter in cubes to increase the speed of cooking.
  • Heat a heavy bottomed pan, add butter cubes.
  • Keep the flame on low power.
  • Let the butter melt.
  • The color of the melted butter will change while cooking.
  • When you see the color changes to golden, stop the heat.
  • Strain it in a jar. Add just a pinch of salt to get the grainy texture of the ghee.
Tips:
  • How to recognize ghee is ready?
    • Butter turns golden color.
    • You see the fats settling at the bottom of the pan.
    • You will notice a nice aroma of the ghee in your kitchen.
