Chicken Tandoori

Hello Friends !!

This is my 1st ever post. So why not start with our most favorite recipe. This is my & my hubby's most favorite recipe. It doesn't even need a lot of work. Also you can prepare for this recipe a day before. So the day you cook this, you don't have to waste your time in preparation. You can start cooking it directly. It has an advantage also. The more time it  is marinated, the better it tastes !!!

            So lets start baking !!

Preparation Time: 10 mins
Cooking time: 15 mins
Marinating time: At least 2 hrs. (preferably overnight)

Ingredients:
  • 1 kg Chicken drumsticks
  • Butter

1st Marinade
    • 2 tsp red chili powder
    • Salt to taste
    • 2 tsp Lemon juice

2nd Marinade
    • 2 tsp Ginger Garlic paste
    • 1/2 cup Yogurt
    • 3 tsp Red Chili Powder
    • 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
    • Salt to taste

How to make Tandoori Chicken:
  • Clean the chicken. Prick it diagonally with knife or fork all over. This makes the marinade to go deep inside the chicken making it more tasty. Be careful!
  • Mix the ingredients of the 1st marinade in a bowl. Apply it all over the chicken drumsticks and marinate it for 30-45 minutes.
  • Mix the ingredients in the 2nd marinade in another bowl. Careful with the salt as we have already added it in the 1st marinate
  • Apply this yogurt mixture over the chicken drumsticks so that it gets coated well all through, with the paste. Force some mixture in the slits also. Leave it in the fridge for 6-7 hours.
  • Preheat the oven to 200 C.
  • Put the drumsticks in the oven. After 10 minutes apply melted butter with a brush to the chicken drumsticks.
  • Then after 15 minutes flip the chicken drumsticks.
  • Again after 10 minutes apply butter to it.
  • After 15 minutes remove it from the oven.
  • Pack the cooked chicken in an aluminum foil & let it rest for 10 minutes.

Now enjoy the chicken tandoori with some salad!

Tips:
  • Do give the cooked chicken some resting time as indicated. It makes the chicken moist & soft.
